Jakšić Gallery in Donji Humac on the island of Brač is a place where art, Brač stone, and more than a century of family tradition come together. Located within the authentic setting of the family home and stonemasonry workshop, the gallery opened in 2008 as the first gallery space of the Jakšić family, continuing a story that has been unfolding on this very site since 1903.
It was here that Ante Jakšić established the family’s first stonemasonry workshop, and decades later master craftsman Lovre Jakšić created his own small gallery and exhibition space. Today’s gallery continues that tradition, presenting the work of several generations of artists and stonemasons who have shaped the distinctive identity of the Jakšić family.
A visit to Jakšić Gallery offers an experience that goes far beyond a traditional gallery tour. Visitors can discover stone sculptures, paintings, original jewellery, designer objects crafted from Brač stone, and a wide range of unique artworks, while also experiencing the atmosphere of a place where art is created every day.
