The triptych titled “Red Line” by our painter Dina Jakšić Pavasović was presented as a part of the 7th Biennale of Painting in the spacious gallery of the Home of Croatian artists. Each biennale represents the current state of the Croatian painting scene. In addition, it records the scenes and developments of Croatian painting by presenting recognizable authors of all generations, creating a great range of painting in the Republic of Croatia. The opening of the biennale was also attended by numerous distinguished guests, government representatives and the professional public. In her work, Dina Jakšić Pavasović primarily explores forms and colors and their mutual cooperation within a specific format. The results are expressive pictures full of bright colors with a pronounced texture of pasty brushstrokes. On this occasion, she presented a large triptych consisting of three forms of different colors and shapes isolated in a separate format, the motif that appears in all three parts is a thin red line that “jumps” from canvas to canvas, connecting all three forms into one whole. In everyday life, the appearance of the red line creates ambiguity in its presence – it can indicate a prohibition but also guidance. It is precisely this ambivalent value of the red line in this painting that is the focus of the action, and not just its appearance – as the name of the picture itself indicates.
