From 28 May to 1 June, in Supetar, Brač island, an international culinary festival “Pearl of the Sea” is taking place and our workshop was commissioned to design and make special stone gifts for the participants. The project is designed as a cooking competition for chefs and includes master classes, cooking shows, gastronomic exhibitions, oenological workshops, presentation of foreign and local cuisine, round tables and an entertainment program. With this excellent manifestation we will cooperate by producing medals, made of white Brač stone, that will be given to the winners of the culinary competition.
The medals are shaped to resemble a shell, which is also the logo of the event itself. Designing them, we wanted to connect the object with the event, so we added another hemispherical element which protrudes from the base of the medal and represents a pearl. This element is also made of white Brač stone, which indicates that this noble material is in fact the pearl of Brač island and our greatest value. We represented the sea with blue graphic lines, so the medal artistically sums up the name of the event itself, Brač island and its greatest values.
We are glad that our workshop is accountable for making these specially designed souvenirs for an event which deservedly became the largest culinary festival in this part of the Mediterranean.
