This year, we had the pleasure of participating in the inspiring project The Art of Small Gatherings, created by designer Marcela Ban and the wedding and event planning agency D’inspiration. This unique concept demonstrated how intimate weddings can become true works of art when exceptional design, natural materials, authentic locations, and carefully curated details come together.
What made this project particularly special was its setting. This unusual and enchanting wedding took place in the impressive surroundings of a Brač stone quarry and within the premises of the Stonemasonry School in Pučišća, locations that tell the remarkable story of stone craftsmanship on the island of Brač. The monumental walls of Brač stone provided a spectacular backdrop, highlighting the beauty of every detail and demonstrating how natural materials can become a powerful element of contemporary wedding design.
The focal point of the ceremony was the sculpture “The Couple” by academic sculptor Lovre Jakšić, which defined the wedding scenography and symbolically represented unity, love, and connection. Positioned within the quarry landscape, the sculpture further emphasized the relationship between art, nature, and emotion, creating an atmosphere that left a lasting impression on everyone involved in the project.
The wedding table design was equally inspired by nature and stone as a timeless material. A special place was given to our stone vessel – a basin with an organic flower-petal form made in our workshop, which served as the central decorative piece of the table. It demonstrated how functional stone objects can be transformed into elegant design elements that bring sophistication to any setting.
Accompanying it were our minimalist stone flower vases, handcrafted from Brač stone. Their simple and refined forms perfectly complemented the concept of natural elegance while showcasing how stone decorative objects can become lasting keepsakes from a special occasion. The table styling was further enriched with our stone napkin holders and ring holders, subtle details that reinforced the authenticity of the design and its connection to natural materials.
Marcela Ban recognised the value of incorporating stone into wedding design and demonstrated how natural elements can create a refined, timeless, and sustainable aesthetic. In her vision, Brač stone was not merely a decorative feature but an essential part of a broader story about local tradition, craftsmanship, and design.
Particular attention was also drawn to the jewellery designed by Ida Stipčić Jakšić. After choosing her wedding dress, the bride selected a unique collection of handcrafted silver and moonstone rings created in our workshop. The jewellery perfectly complemented the overall concept of the wedding, highlighting individuality and the desire for meaningful details with a personal story.
The project The Art of Small Gatherings once again demonstrated how the combination of art, design, natural materials, and exceptional event planning can create unforgettable experiences. We are proud that products from Jakšić Gallery—including sculptures, stone decorative objects, flower vases, ring holders, and designer jewellery—became part of this remarkable story celebrating the beauty of Brač stone, Croatian design, and traditional craftsmanship.
