New jewelry by Ida Stipčić Jakšić from Lapis lazulia
Our designer Ida Stipčić Jakšić prepared new creations for us. As the main ingredient, she used the first-order stone: the powerful lapis lazuli, a unique stone that is easy to fall in love with because it irresistibly resembles the starry night sky. It is recognizable by its intense blue color marbled with golden-yellow pyrite mineral particles. A little history lesson: It was discovered almost 6000 years ago in a mountainous, relatively inaccessible area of Afghanistan and from there shipped to China, India, Tibet, Sumer. Throughout its long history it has been used to decorate imperial palaces, temples, crumbled to powder and used as a pigment for paintings (the famous Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring) and frescoes, making of amulets and necklaces. This natural material of the color of night infinity attracts us with its strength and healing energy, and in combination with silver and Ida’s skillful hands it takes on a supernatural dimension. Take a look at the pictures and see for yourself 🙂
