While our Gallery in Split was on a well-deserved collective vacation, in our studios on Brač, something was constantly being drawn, cut, sanded and glued. Our designer Ida Stipčić Jakšić has prepared a series of bracelets made of semi-precious stones and silver, Labradorite, Malachite, Mountain Crystal and Larimar. In Ida’s works, it is the stone that takes on the role, remaining large and dominant on the delicate female hands like a Mountain Crystal bracelet. Ida processing the stone comes to its most intense color and by processing it draws it to the surface of its pattern thus showing its most intriguing segment. An example of this is the Malachite bracelet whose lines and beautiful green color are obtained by tireless hand strokes. However, when it comes to special natural phenomena Labradorite is out of competition, its blue-yellow luminous trace appears only in certain positions. Ida found that trace in this Labradorite, sealed it in silver, and made a bracelet. When creating the bracelet from Larimar, Ida had a slightly different approach, where silver gets a bigger role, and in addition to embracing the stone, she also raises and lifts it as if she were putting it on a pedestal – because it is Larimar after all. These four unique pieces of jewelry are in the Jakšić Gallery in Split.
